Any escalation of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh will require the direct involvement of the peacekeepers. This is what Russian academician Fyodor Voytolovsky said during today’s discussion entitled “Armenia and Russia: Imperative of a New Strategy”.

“These people [the peacekeepers] are responsible for stabilization of the situation. Russia is ready to continue to ensure Armenia’s security with respect to the Collective Security Treaty Organization and bilateral cooperation,” he added.

Voytolovsky suspected that the US and France will become more involved, even if the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh moves to the territory of Armenia.
