The opening ceremony of the Holy See’s Apostolic Nunciature office in Armenia will take place Wednesday. And a  delegation led by Archbishop Edgar Pena Parra, the Substitute for General Affairs of the Holy See, has arrived in Yerevan to attend this event.

In a press briefing dedicated to this visit, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan noted the importance of the aforesaid event for Armenia as a country that was the first in the world to adopt Christianity as state religion.

"The opening of the nunciature marks a new page in diplomatic relations," the minister said.

According to him, the two parties exchanged views on bilateral relations and noted their readiness to deepen them—and on the basis of shared Christian values, history, and culture.
