We proceed from the fact that the unblocking of routes needs to be carried out on the basis of international treaties and the national legislation of each of the sides. This is what Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova said during today’s briefing.

“As you know, Russia supports implementation of the agreements (reached on November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021) at the highest level. Among other issues, these agreements concern the unblocking of economic and transport links in the South Caucasus. The trilateral task force co-chaired by the Deputy Prime Ministers of the three countries is dealing with this major issue. Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexey Overchuk discussed the whole scope of these issues during his visits to Yerevan and Baku. We see good prospects for reaching agreements on the unblocking of transport relations in the region, and of course, taking into consideration the balance of the interests of all the sides,” Zakharova added.
