NATO shares serious concerns about the situation in Kazakhstan, including reports of casualties, NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs and Security Policy and Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia Javier Colomina said in a statement.

“NATO shares the serious concern over the situation in Kazakhstan, including reports of casualties. We call on all parties to exercise restraint, refrain from violence, and pursue dialogue. Authorities must respect international rights obligations, including the right to peaceful protest,” Colomina wrote on Twitter.
