Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed hope that the situation in the country's economy will change with oil production in the Black Sea.

Last May, speaking in Istanbul, President Erdogan said that after the discovery of gas in the Black Sea, Turkey received results onshore, having discovered three oil fields.

Oil production is carried out in the southeastern Turkish provinces of Diyarbakir, Adiyaman and Sanliurfa. Turkey provides itself with oil by no more than 5%. The main needs are met through imports, including from Russia.

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Fatih Donmez said that the supply of pipes to the gas processing plant, which the republic plans to produce in the Black Sea, has begun.

The countdown to the start of production continues... Pipelines, through which Black Sea gas will be transported from the sea to land, have begun to arrive at our natural gas processing plant in Filhos - a small village, the minister wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey intends to produce up to 40 million cubic meters of gas per day from fields in the Black Sea and hopes to use the fuel from January 2023. It is planned that at the first stage, 10 million cubic meters of gas per day will be produced from 10 wells, at the second stage - 40 million.
