In case of possible escalation, the major crisis between Ukraine and Russia—in which a large number of countries are indirectly involved—may create a new volatile situation in the South Caucasus. Tigran Abrahamyan, an MP from the opposition "With Honor" Faction in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia (RA) and a security expert, wrote this on Facebook Tuesday. He added as follows:

"A lot depends on the scale of the possible conflict, the prolongation of the crisis situation, and the parties involved—which appear or do not appear in it.

In this case, any rapprochement with Turkey and Azerbaijan, readiness to fulfill preconditions will not save the RA authorities.

These authorities do not have a mechanism for managing risks, crises. That is the reason why any volatile situation in the big region makes the RA face new threats.”
