Azerbaijan ranks fifth among the Council of Europe member states not to execute decisions of the Strasbourg Court, Lawyer Khalid Aghaliyev said. His remarks came when commenting on the review report of the European Court of Human Rights circulated by the press service of the Council of Europe on the previous day, Turan agency reported.

According to the source, 271 ECHR judgments remain unimplemented in Azerbaijan, while in neighboring Georgia and Armenia 63 and 50, respectively.

Azerbaijan has entered the stage of execution of 46 ECHR judgments in 2021, while in 2020, this figure was 51.

Last year, Azerbaijan compensated damages in 51 cases, but only in 23 cases, the compensation was paid on time. At the same time, as of December 31, 2021, no compensation had been paid in 58 cases.
