France reaffirms its full commitment—both on a bilateral basis and as President of the Council of the European Union and Co-Chair of the Minsk Group—to the establishment of peace and stability in the South Caucasus. This was stated by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France in response to a question about its position on the future of the OSCE Minsk Group.

"In this capacity, France continues to work with Armenia and Azerbaijan to make progress on humanitarian issues, and continues to assist in the work of delimitation of the borders, the process of eliminating the isolation of the region, heritage preservation, the signing of a peace treaty between the two countries, and the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. For that purpose, on February 4, on the initiative of the President of the [French] Republic, a meeting was organized—in the format of a videoconference—with the Prime Minister of Armenia, the President of Azerbaijan, and the President of the European Council. The French co-chair of the Minsk Group is in Yerevan these days on a working visit," the French foreign ministry added in its statement.
