The seismological network of territorial seismic protection service of Armenia's Emergency Ministry registered the earthquake at 17:02 local time on Friday (GMT - 13:02) with geographical coordinates 41.51 ° north latitude and 46, 98 ° east longitude, 31 kilometers southeast of Zaqatala in Azerbaijan. The hypocenter was located at a depth of 10 km.

The earthquake was also felt in Noyemberyan and villages Koti, Berdavan and Koghb of Tavush region of Armenia - with the intensity of 3 magnitudes.
