The sides in the talks on restoring the nuclear deal are working on the possibility of a face-to-face meeting, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said at a press conference on Monday.

"Both sides, Iran and the EU, are convinced that it is not in the interest of dialogue to stall. It is necessary to breathe new energy [into the negotiations] as soon as possible through a face-to-face meeting," he said.

So far, no decision has been made as to when and at what level this meeting will take place, but it is on the agenda. At the same time, the diplomat did not specify what meeting of representatives of which countries he was referring to.

A break was taken in Vienna on 11 March for external factors after eight rounds of talks to restore the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear program in its original form and return the U.S. to this multilateral agreement. Prior to that, the Vienna talks had reached the finish line and were expected to be completed by the end of February.

The text of the agreements was agreed upon and is about 20 pages long. It talks about further measures to return to the nuclear agreement in its original form.
