Qatar hopes to begin deliveries of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Germany in 2024, Qatari Vice Premier Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said in an interview with German daily Handelsblatt on Friday.

Later on Friday, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, will hold talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin.

Germany's plans to build LNG terminals are gaining momentum as the country struggles to stop importing cheaper gas from Russia.
