All Greek companies - importers of Russian gas have switched to a new payment procedure to Gazprom, there will be no cessation of supplies, an industry source told RIA Novosti.

"All Greek companies-buyers have switched to paying in rubles," the source said.

The country has three main importers - DEPA Commerce, Mytilineos, and Prometheus Gas. Supplies from Russia account for 45% to 55% of imports, depending on the season. According to experts, it will not be possible to replace Russian gas with any other sources in the coming years.

The source said that the deadline for payment for April gas supplies is 25 May. Therefore, it is necessary for the money to reach the special account on 23 May. It takes two days to convert it into rubles and transfer the money from one account to another. For this purpose, the euro payments must be received on 23 May.

On the eve of the Athens news agency AMNA reported that DEPA paid to Gazprom for April deliveries in euros in accordance with the instructions of the European Commission of 19 May.
