The issue of enclaves was not discussed at the meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Brussels, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during the government hour on Wednesdsy, answering questions from deputies from the ruling Civil Contract party.

He cited as an example the words of the Secretary of the Security Council about the possible railway connection between Yeraskh and Meghri through Nakhichevan.

“As for the enclaves, this issue was not discussed in Brussels. However, it should be taken into account that Azerbaijan, directly or indirectly, raises this issue in various formats. The position of Armenia, in this regard, is quite transparent and public."

"We have repeatedly said that in all processes it is necessary to delve into the legal foundations. We also said that, according to our research, the existence of Azerbaijani enclaves on the territory of Armenia has not yet been de jure recorded. On the contrary, we have recorded that Artsvashen is de jure the territory of Armenia,” Pashinyan said.

According to him, the process of delimitation and demarcation will soon begin. The PM noted that the citizens of Armenia are well aware of the gravity of the current situation, and that there is no need to further dramatize it, since it is already dramatic.

The Prime Minister again assured that no one is going to do anything behind the backs of the Armenian society and Karabakh. There are simply no such plans, he said.
