Minister of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh (RA) David Babayan was on a working visit to the Republic of South Ossetia (RSO) on May 23-25 ​​to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected President of the Republic Alan Gagloev.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the inauguration ceremony, Artsakh Foreign Minister read out a congratulatory message from RA President Arayik Harutyunyan.

During the visit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs was received by the President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev. There was also a meeting with Acting Foreign Minister Dmitry Medoev. At the meetings, a wide range of issues related to Artsakh-South Ossetia relations and regional processes were discussed. The importance of consistent development and deepening of relations, expansion of cooperation between various state and public structures was emphasized.

Within the framework of the visit, Minister Babayan delivered a lecture at the South Ossetian State University, presented the causes of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict and current realities, touched upon the centuries-old Armenian-Ossetian relations. At the end of the lecture, the Foreign Minister answered the questions of the faculty and students.

David Babayan also met with representatives of the Armenian community of South Ossetia. The head of the Foreign Ministry of Artsakh emphasized the importance of strengthening the ties between the homeland and the Diaspora, highly appreciated the special approach of the South Ossetian authorities to the local Armenian community, proudly noting that the Armenians manage not only to maintain their national identity and connection with their historical homeland, but also to be exemplary and patriotic citizens of South Ossetia. Ossetia.
