Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the Executive Director of the International alliance for the protection of heritage in conflict areas (ALIPH) Valéry Freland.

Pashinyam welcomed the activities of ALIPH in the field of protection of cultural and historical heritage and expressed readiness for cooperation on behalf of the Government of Armenia.

He noted that one of the priorities of Armenia is the protection of the Armenian cultural and religious heritage from destruction in the territories under the control of Azerbaijan after the 44-day war, and stressed the importance of the unhindered involvement of the international community, especially UNESCO, in the preservation of the Armenian monuments of Nagorno-Karabakh and the prevention further incidents of vandalism.

The sides also discussed issues of cooperation in the field of preservation and restoration of cultural and historical monuments located on the territory of Armenia. An exchange of views took place on the possibilities of carrying out work on strengthening and digitalization, the formation of the necessary infrastructure, the exchange of experience and the retraining of specialists.
