The Ministry of Health of Armenia spent about 35.3 billion drams (approx. US$79,800,168) in 2021 to fight against the coronavirus. Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan said this during Tuesday’s preliminary debates on the execution of the 2021 state budget, at the joint meeting of the standing committees of the National Assembly.

The minister informed that these funds were directed to the acquisition of coronavirus vaccines, the implementation of preventive measures, as well as the organization of respective medical care.

"Besides, this week the government will provide another 5.2 billion drams [(approx. US$11,755,265)] to the Ministry of Health, which will help ensure the continuity of state-funded medical services," Avanesyan added.
