For the first time since the Cold War, NATO will deploy troops and equipment on its eastern flank. The statement came from NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at a press conference ahead of a meeting of NATO defense ministers in Brussels.

According to him, this will enable the bloc to react faster in case of a threat.

This is exactly what they are working on with Germany, but they expect all allies to make similar proposals to engage pre-designated forces that are trained and responsible for protecting certain territories, he said.

Stoltenberg added that they are focused on strengthening efforts, providing more assistance, and supplying more modern weapons.

According to him, Ukraine will continue to receive practical assistance from NATO allies and alliance, which will enable the country to continue to modernize its armed forces.
