“Cargo deliveries across the Caspian Sea are of great importance. We are ready to continue taking steps to increase the significance of this corridor. The growth of investments in the field of transport and logistics will improve the level of well-being in the entire region,” the FM said.

According to him, specific initiatives of Ankara on this issue have been brought to the attention of the participants of the trilateral meeting in Baku.

The Turkish FM noted that amid regional processes, cooperation between Baku, Ankara and Nur-Sultan is of particular importance.

Cavusoglu noted that the crisis in Ukraine demonstrated the importance of having safe and stable transport corridors. Therefore, it is very important to invest both in domestic infrastructure and expand opportunities in the region.

According to him, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway projects, as well as the energy projects of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline are clear evidence of successful regional cooperation in the transport and energy sectors.

He added that Ankara also supports the idea of opening the Zangezur corridor linking the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic with the rest of Azerbaijan.
