There is confidence that in the near future we will come to the point where the annual trade turnover between our countries will be estimated at 3 billion dollars, Vice Speaker of the State Duma of Russia Alexei Gordeev told reporters in Yerevan.

He recalled that there are about 200 agreements between Russia and Armenia in a particular area of cooperation, and at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Armenia Mher Grigoryan, the possibilities of developing this potential were discussed.

In the current year, according to him, there is a good growth in trade turnover.

“Today, the accumulated Russian investments in the Armenian economy are about 40%, so our business is already seriously present here. However, I would like to change the quality of these investments and enter the joint production of certain types of products, not only to sell them on the Russian and Armenian markets, but also to use them on the markets of third countries,” he added.

The trade turnover between Armenia and Russia in 2021 amounted to $2.6 billion.
