At some point, the situation became tense outside the Russian Embassy in Yerevan, where the parents and relatives of Armenia’s reservists who were captured by Azerbaijan in Khtsaberd village of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), are staging a protest.

The relatives of these captives demand a meeting with the Russian ambassador. They were upset that they were there for about an hour, yet they do not know whether anyone will receive them, whether the ambassador is at the embassy.

And a scuffle ensued between the police and these protesters. The parents wanted to enter the embassy. And a mother of one of these captured soldiers felt ill.

During his recent online press conference, PM Nikol Pashinyan attributed the accountability for these Armenian captives to the Russian peacekeeping mission in Artsakh, saying that "ninety percent and more of the confirmed captives were captured after the deployment of Russian peacekeepers and in their area of responsibility." Subsequently, the families of the aforesaid captives started protests in front of the Russian consulate in Gyumri.
