U.S. and Turkish Presidents Joe Biden and Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed Ukraine, Greece and Syria.

During the meeting on the sidelines of the NATO summit, Biden welcomed Turkey's conclusion of a trilateral agreement with Finland and Sweden, which paved the way for inviting allies to join NATO.

According to the White House, the leaders discussed continued support for Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression as well as the importance of Russia removing obstacles to Ukrainian grain exports.

They also talked about the importance of maintaining stability in the Aegean Sea and Syria.

Biden reiterated his desire to maintain constructive bilateral relations, and the leaders agreed on the importance of continuing close consultations between the governments.

Meanwhile, RIA Novosti reported citing Turkey's NTV channel, the two leaders discussed deliveries of F-16 fighter jets, Greek policy and the planned Turkish Armed Forces operation in northern Syria. It is reported that the meeting lasted 1 hour and 10 minutes. Among the topics discussed were US F-16 deliveries, Greek policy and the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) actions in Syria, on the border with Turkey in the context of the planned operation of the Turkish Armed Forces.
