Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan considers the joint memorandum with Sweden and Finland on their entry into NATO a "diplomatic victory" for Ankara.

Erdogan said on Thursday that all of Turkey's "delicate issues" were taken into account in the 10-article agreement.

The President said that Sweden has promised to extradite 73 "terrorists" to Turkey and stop funding and recruiting activities of the PKK and its offshoots.

However, the Nordic countries have stated that they will "consider" these requests in accordance with the European Convention on Extradition and did not provide figures in the written agreement.

Erdogan told a press conference after the NATO summit in Madrid that "Sweden has promised us that 73 terrorists will be extradited."

Turkey expects Finland and Sweden to "intensify" their efforts against terrorism, he said, after the country was promised "full solidarity" in talks that resulted in Ankara lifting its veto on their NATO membership.
