An informed source told the media that Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov is set to pay a visit to Tehran in the coming days at the official invitation of his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Mehr reported.

In addition to meeting his Iranian counterpart, Bayramov is scheduled to meet with some other Iranian high-ranking officials, including President Ebrahim Raisi and parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

This will be the first trip of the Azerbaijani top diplomat to Tehran since Raisi took office.

Amir-Abdollahian and Bayramov last month held a phone talk, discussing Tehran-Baku's political, economic, commercial, consular, and parliamentary ties.

The Iranian FM paid a one-day visit to Baku last year, and he met with his Azerbaijani counterpart as well as President Ilham Aliyev.
