Lithuania received the Bayraktar combat drone from Turkey after hundreds of Lithuanians raised money to buy it for Ukraine, the defense ministry said.

Turkish manufacturer Baykar said in June that it would donate the drone for free, while the Lithuanian government committed to spend 1.5 million euros of crowdfunded money on arming it, with the rest of the nearly 6 million euros raised going to humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

In recent years, Ukraine has purchased more than 20 Bayraktar TB2 combat drones from Baykar and ordered 16 more on January 27. This batch was delivered in early March.
