The European Union will create a reconstruction platform to coordinate the reconstruction of Ukraine after the war with Russia, said European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, DW reports.

The platform will be used to identify investment needs, coordinate actions and allocate resources, von der Leyen said at a conference on rebuilding Ukraine in the Swiss city of Lugano.

Since the start of the war, the European Union has mobilized about 6.2 billion euros in financial support, von der Leyen said.

The platform will bring together countries, institutions, the private sector and civil society. It will also include such international organizations as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank.

Through the reconstruction platform, the European Commission can offer its extensive experience in implementing programs that combine reform and investment, said von der Leyen.
