At Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, the government of Armenia approved the decision to approve the report on the 2021 annual results of the oversight of the implementation of the state budget.

The respective report states that the department of financial and budgetary oversight of the Ministry of Finance carried out 19 inspections during 2021, and as a result, 1,630,700,000 drams (approx. $4 million) of violations were detected, of which 766,400,000 drams (approx. $1.9 million) have been proposed for recovery (reformulation).

And violations of 864,300,000 drams (approx. $2.1 million) that were not proposed for recovery were recorded as a result of inspections carried out at the request of law enforcement agencies, non-targeted and ineffective expenses, violations of the requirements of the procurement law, etc.

Only 247,200,000 drams (approx. $619 thousand) have been recovered from the recorded amounts in the reporting period.
