The UN Security Council will again discuss the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. This is noted in Thursday’s sessions’ program of this organization.

The aforesaid discussion is planned to be held in connection with the letter by the permanent representative of Armenia to the UN addressed to the President of the UN Security Council.

On Wednesday, this matter was put on the agenda of the sessions of the UN Security Council at the request of the French presidency of this council. The consultations took place behind closed doors.

Later, Vasily Nebenzya, the Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN, said that after discussions at the Security Council, they were in favor of a ceasefire between Baku and Yerevan and the settlement of the situation through political and diplomatic means.

According to him, Moscow insists that in those elements of the press there must be a reference to the trilateral statements by the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan in 2020 and 2021—and which are the basis for the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and contain ceasefire obligations and a number of projects.
