YEREVAN. – Past daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: After the [military] aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan on the RA state border, the attitude towards the RF [(Russian Federation)] and the CSTO has sharply worsened within the RA.

Moreover, it is not only about the "enthusiasm" of the western wing, but about the fact that it is being expressed at the highest level.

However, according to Past newspaper’s information, everything is not so clear cut on this topic within the authorities themselves, and extremely contradictory views are circulating in the [ruling] CC [(Civil Contract) party], particularly regarding the matter of [Armenia] leaving the CSTO. The western-oriented block of the party self-forgetfully insists that there is a need to leave the organization forthwith.

Our source claims that this matter was discussed also during the meeting that was held with the US ambassador. In particular, we have information that the representatives of the western wing [of the CC] has been instructed to circulate obvious anti-Russian theories, to harshly criticize the actions of the CSTO consistently through [social] posts and interviews, and to circulate the topic of a quick exit from the CSTO through pro-government "units."

According to our information, [PM] Nikol Pashinyan, however, has urged his teammates not to do anything drastic with their face at this phase, to work "from underneath" and not to get too active in the topic of [Armenia] leaving the CSTO, but to throw only "gradual," "phased" options into the field.
