Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan discussed with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres the consequences of Baku's large-scale aggression against the sovereign territory of Armenia, the press service of the Armenian Cabinet of Ministers informed.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Pashinyan stressed the importance of the discussions initiated by Armenia in the UN Security Council and the clear position of the UN Security Council member states regarding the Azerbaijani aggression.

The Armenian Prime Minister stressed the importance of the adequate response of the international community regarding the immediate withdrawal of Azerbaijani troops from the sovereign territory of Armenia, as well as the need for consistent and continuous monitoring to prevent new aggressions by Azerbaijan.

The Prime Minister also touched upon the grave violations of international humanitarian law and the facts of shelling of civilians and infrastructure by Baku.

In his turn Guterres expressed his concern over the continuing tension on the border and stressed the need to solve the problems through negotiations.
