Iran has risen to the level of NATO countries from the military and technical point of view, as well as from the tactical point of view on the Lebanese, Palestinian, Syrian, and Iraqi fronts, Iranian expert Nver Davtyan told NEWS.am.

In this regard, he noted that the Iranian army has gained sufficient successful experience, particularly in Syria. The development of Iran's Armed Forces continues: weapons similar to those used in the West are being created, including missiles and UAVs.

In his assessment, this proves that the military-technical capacities and the political position of Iran in Armenia coincide. Davtyan added that Iran's position at both the diplomatic and military leadership levels is related to the unacceptability of changing Armenia's borders.

"Also important is the readiness of Armenia's military and political elite to really assess Iran's capabilities in terms of strengthening our capacity to protect our settlements and combat positions, ensuring airspace security," the expert stressed.

He recalled that Iran does not want to allow the U.S. to strengthen its influence in the region by including Washington in the solution of regional issues. "It is preferable for the IRI to have Russia here than the United States.  The Americans, in turn, also do not want to increase Tehran's influence," the Iranian expert concluded.
