Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and French President Emmanuel Macron have discussed in a telephone conversation the earliest possible start of peace talks between Baku and Yerevan, Azerbaijani media reported.

"At the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron, a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani President Aliyev was held on Tuesday, the press service of the Azerbaijani head of state reported.

The French President informed Aliyev of his September 26 meeting with the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The Azerbaijani President expressed gratitude for the information provided. The conversation also included a discussion of the clash that took place on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border. The heads of states discussed the earliest possible start of peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia," the report says.
