Trade between Russia and Armenia amounted to $2 billion in the first half of 2022, increasing by about 50 percent compared to the same indicator last year. Anna Donchenko, the Russian trade representative in Armenia, told about this to a press conference Monday.

According to her, these numbers speak for themselves. Also, she expressed hope that this dynamic will multiply.

"It is very important for us to maintain the level of our dialogue. Today, Russian-Armenian relations continue to develop at a progressive pace and have a positive and correctly-oriented economic character. This is very important for us, considering the new realities. Thank you to our Armenian partners, who travel this ‘road’ in close contact with us," added Donchenko.

Also, she pointed to the construction sector in Armenia, and informed that an agreement was signed between the Union of Builders of Armenia and the Union of Builders of Russia—and aimed at strengthening the ties between the two countries in this sector.

In his turn, Anatoly Nikolaev, “Zarubezh Expo” company director on international cooperation development, explained that exports from Russia to Armenia have increased by 42.2 percent, and in the opposite direction—by 66 percent.

He recalled that 2,200 enterprises with Russian capital work in Armenia, and about 40 percent of them are large enterprises.
