YEREVAN. – The seismological network of Armenia on Wednesday recorded an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 in Iran, at 4:21am local time, 9 kilometers southwest of Marand city, and at a depth of 10 kilometers.

The tremor measured magnitude 7 to 8 at the epicenter, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The seismic activity was felt in Armenia, too—in Syunik, Vayots Dzor, Ararat, and Kotayk Provinces, in the capital Yerevan—as well as in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
