Lebanese MP Cynthia Zarazir staged a protest at a bank branch on Wednesday, demanding her deposit be returned, RIA Novosti reported.

The parliamentarian was protesting at a branch of the Byblos bank in a suburb of the capital Antelias. According to the Depositors Association, Zarazir is demanding that she get back $8,500.

Banks in Lebanon reopened Sept. 26 after a week of boycotts because of increasing attacks by angry depositors, but customers can only get into the bank by appointment.

Angry depositors demanding their money back seized at least ten bank branches in late September, and some of the depositors managed to get the sums from their deposits. In most cases, the disgruntled customers threatened with toy guns. The Association of depositors previously said that a war for the return of deposits has begun.
