Russia's presence in the problematic sectors of the border with Azerbaijan prevents escalation, the Russian peacekeepers and border guards are in contact with both sides, and this prevents the escalation of tension. Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin told about this to reporters Wednesday.

According to him, they are working, and this is also an important factor for maintaining stability and preventing further escalation of the situation.

He recalled that the political dialogue continues all the time—and both bilaterally and trilaterally.

"There is close contact at the highest level. Most of what was done is known. The well-known mechanisms based on trilateral agreements, which were reached in 2020-2021, are in operation. We attach importance to these formats and attach great importance to them, despite the problems and challenges", emphasized Kopirkin.

According to the Russian diplomat, this is a whole series of steps and measures aimed at reaching the necessary agreements.
