McDonald's restaurant in the Swiss city of Lugano began selling food for cryptocurrency, Crypto Globe reported.

McDonald's became one of the first commercial enterprises in the city, which began to accept cryptocurrency after Lugano City Hall recognized bitcoins and Tether as legal means of payment.

The unique McDonald's has only one self-service cash register where you can pay with cryptocurrency. However, it is expected that if the experiment is successful and the service is in demand, there will be more such terminals.

The Lugano experience will soon be extrapolated to other Swiss cities.

Lugano is the ninth largest city in Switzerland. It is home to about 62 thousand people.
