The State Automobile Inspectorate of North Ossetia has begun to evacuate cars abandoned by citizens at the Russian-Georgian border crossing, reports Telegram channel Mash Gor.

Abandoned cars at the Upper Lars border crossing point are moved with the help of wreckers to an impound lot. As of today, 80 cars have been evacuated.

The car will be returned to its owner or his representative only by a photocopy of documents or a power of attorney.

Immediately after the mobilization was announced in Russia on September 21, queues were formed at the Russian border checkpoints. The most notorious was at the Upper Lars checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian border, where people queued for 4-5 days, often without food or water. On October 3, blogger Nikolai Levshits reported that the traffic jam at the border has been resolved, cars pass freely. Also, queues were formed at the border crossings on the Russian-Kazakh border.
