Qatar's Energy Minister Saad al-Kaabi promised to steadily supply Europe with 12-15 million tons of natural gas from Qatar if European countries continue to have difficulties with other sources of energy, RIA Novosti reported.

"Now we sell about five to ten million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG). In the next five to 10 years, we will be the largest LNG seller in the world. Twelve to 15 million tons of Qatari natural gas will flow steadily to Europe if the situation remains as it is," Al-Kaabi said during an Energy intelligence forum conference in London.

Al Qaabi said project teams working to boost the country's LNG production have found it very difficult to meet project deadlines and budgets, but Qatar is expected to see a huge jump in LNG production.

According to the minister, in a European market built on the principle of hubs, it is difficult to have a fixed supply based on this hub.

Al Kaabi is sure that there will be no peak in gas consumption in the next 20-30 years.

The expansion plan for Qatar's North Field includes the creation of six LNG lines, which will increase its liquefaction capacity from 77 million tons to 126 million tons per year.
