The court of general jurisdiction of Yerevan on Wednesday is examining the lawsuit by the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

This civil case refers to Pashinyan's defamatory remarks during his rally on March 1 of the previous year at Republic Square in downtown Yerevan.

In April, Kocharyan's attorney Hayk Alumyan had filed a lawsuit demanding to protect his client's honor and dignity from the aforesaid publicly expressed defamation and to compensate for the non-pecuniary damage caused by this defamation.
