The deployment of international observers on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is not the only mechanism. Other mechanisms are also under discussion, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said at the session of Armenian National Assembly during the governmental hour today.

According to him, there is a common understanding that liquidation of consequences of Azerbaijani aggression, for example, withdrawal of Azerbaijani troops from the sovereign territory of the republic, and even signing a peace treaty may not create due guarantees of exclusion of further aggression from Baku that many people hope for. The same position is held by Armenia's international partners, the Foreign Minister said.

"Therefore, we may need additional guarantees. For instance, the introduction of an international monitoring mechanism. However, that is not the only mechanism. Others are under consideration. For instance, mirror withdrawal of troops," Mirzoyan explained.
