Russia provides comprehensive support to its allied countries in the matter of normalization of relations. Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian foreign ministry, stated about this at Thursday’s weekly press briefing, and with respect to the prospects for a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"Our comprehensive proposals have been forwarded to Baku and Yerevan. Russian foreign ministry special representative Igor Khovaev paid visits to the region in September—for consultations on the subject.

Some try to question our [i.e., Russia’s] role in some way, or accuse us of inaction. We deal with the case and record concrete results. We do not engage in any advertising activity and are focused on results.

Considering the high sensitivity of the topic of the peace agreement, it is not appropriate to publicly comment on the details of the ongoing negotiations," said Zakharova.
