Russia and Azerbaijan manage to take prompt decisions on the development of cooperation under the sanctions against Moscow, these measures yield results, primarily in the field of trade and economic cooperation, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting with Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov on the margins of the Caspian Economic Forum in Skolkovo, TASS reported.

"In the conditions of illegal economic sanctions of unfriendly states against Russia, the governmental line takes prompt decisions aimed at further development of Russian-Azerbaijani cooperation. These measures are already yielding results, first of all in the field of trade and economic cooperation," Mishustin said.

Russian investments in Azerbaijan reach $4.5 bln and Azerbaijani investments in Russia - about $1.5 bln, Mishustin said. In January-August 2022, mutual trade turnover between the two countries increased by 11.5% and exceeded $2.2 billion.

"Of course, it is necessary to increase these figures by launching new promising projects, creating industrial and production chains in the energy sector, in transport renewal in agricultural production," Mishustin stressed.
