Russia has requested a UN Security Council (UNSC) meeting for October 31 in connection with an attack by Ukraine on the ships of the Black Sea Fleet (BSF), which are engaged in ensuring the security of the grain corridor. This was reported by the First Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the world organization, Dmitry Polyanskiy, reports TASS.

According to him, Russia has also officially notified the UN Secretary General, António Guterres, about the suspension of its participation in the implementation of the grain deal.

"In light of Ukraine's October 29 attack against the ships of the Black Sea Fleet involved in ensuring the security of vessels delivering Ukrainian grain under the so-called Black Sea initiative, the post office has notified the UN Secretary General that Russia is suspending its participation in it," the diplomat said in his Telegram channel
