Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan received USAID Deputy Administrator for Europe and Eurasia, Ambassador Erin Elizabeth McKee, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reports.

The interlocutors discussed the programs implemented by USAID in Armenia, exchanged views on further expansion of cooperation and implementation of new initiatives. The Deputy Foreign Minister stressed the importance of cooperation with the U.S. and, in particular, with USAID in strengthening democracy and implementation of reforms in Armenia.

The interlocutors also discussed issues of international and regional agenda. In this regard, Paruyr Hovhannisyan presented to Erin Elizabeth McKee the situation resulting from the latest Azerbaijani aggression against the sovereign territory of Armenia. Views were exchanged on possible cooperation to solve humanitarian issues in the affected borderland areas of Armenia.
