YEREVAN. –  Deputy Police Chief of Armenia Ara Fidanyan on Monday received a delegation headed by James Applegate, Program Director for Europe and Asia at the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the US Department of State.

Fidanyan lauded the cooperation with their American colleagues, and noted that quite serious joint work has been done within the framework of ongoing reforms within the Armenia Police, the latter inform Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Applegate, in turn emphasized that the American side is impressed by the progress made with the aforesaid reforms, and expressed willingness to continue cooperation and support for the modernization of the Armenian police and the improvement of the quality of their services.

During the meeting, a number of matters were raised, including Ministry of Internal Affairs being formed in Armenia.

As part of the visit, the delegation headed by James Applegate also visited the Police Patrol Service and the police educational complex of Armenia.
