Fifty people were injured after an earthquake in western Turkey, 33 of them have been discharged from hospitals, Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said.

 "We had 50 injured, 33 of them have been discharged from hospitals," Soylu told reporters.

The magnitude 6.0 earthquake occurred in western Turkey, the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) informed. The tremors were recorded at 01.08 worldwide time (04.08 Moscow time). The epicenter of the earthquake was located 14 km to the South-East from Duzje town. The focus was at a depth of six kilometers. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties, classes in educational institutions of the region have been suspended.
