Aktau hosts the second trilateral meeting of foreign and transport ministers of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkey. Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Ceyhun Bayramov, Foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu, Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi take part in the meeting, Kazinform reported.

The Georgian delegation also participates in the meeting. At the meeting it is planned to sign a road map for 2022-2027 for the development and operation of the route of the Middle Corridor passing through Turkey, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in accordance with the Baku Declaration. The first meeting of ministers was held in Baku on June 27, during which the Baku Declaration was adopted. The document implies cooperation in the field of transport and communications. It is assumed that the main topics of discussions in Aktau will be increasing trilateral and regional cooperation and development of the potential of the East-West Central Corridor across the Caspian Sea.

According to the official version, the Middle Corridor will stretch from Turkey through south of Georgia to Azerbaijan and further. But the stubborn striving of the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem to get a corridor through the Syunik province of Armenia, which they call "the Zangezur corridor," shows a far greater appetite. By obtaining such a corridor, Turkey and Azerbaijan will greatly reduce the route and costs. At the same time, Georgia will be left out.
