The cooperation between Armenia and India regarding the creation of the North-South road corridor started back in the 2000s. Armen Baibourtian, the first Ambassador of Armenia to India, told this to reporters on Monday.

According to him, India took an active part in the implementation of the aforesaid project, it not only sees benefit in it, but contributes—with its daily work—to the formation of that corridor.

He noted that New Delhi is considering all options that may interest him.

"Armenia also makes its contribution, but there is an influence of geopolitical processes on the mechanism of making joint decisions on various aspects. Not everything is decided by us [i.e., Armenia], but our approaches are important for reaching beneficial solutions for us. This road is important to us; it is already being formed. This is not an abstract idea, but a concrete project; but there are questions of economic expediency," Baibourtian added.
