The fact that the prime minister of Armenia did not sign the declaration of the CSTO Collective Security Council was very bad for Armenia because it chaired the CSTO, and during its chairmanship it could not agree on the document it wanted. Seyran Ohanyan, leader of the opposition "Armenia" Faction in the National Assembly (NA) and former defense minister of Armenia, told this to reporters at the NA Monday.

According to him, either that document should not have been submitted at the CSTO Collective Security Council summit at all, or if it was submitted, it should have been signed.

"There is a track-record, a tradition in the CSTO that the country that chairs the organization and in the country where at least the concluding summits are held, favorable documents for that country are adopted. In this case, they were not adopted, which means that the authorities of Armenia are ignored.

[The fact] that Azerbaijan is an aggressor, we all know that it should be presented and condemned like that; that's for sure. But to draw the CSTO into our region today also in matters of the use of force, it may cause a serious conflict in the future," Ohanyan added, in particular.
