Qatar's oil and gas company Qatar Energy has signed a long-term agreement with Germany to supply 2 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) annually starting from 2026, Qatar News Agency reported.

The publication noted that the long-term agreement was for 15 years. Meanwhile, the emirate's Minister of State for Energy Saad Sherida al-Kaabi said Qatar knows how to separate policy issues from trade.

According to the agency, Qatar was in active talks with Germany in 2022 to begin supplying LNG to the country.
